We
provide assistance to any foreign citizen who
wishes to establish himself temporarily or
permanently within The Republic of Panama.
For these purposes, the following visas may be
obtained provided the required documents are
submitted:

Immigrant Investor Visa: Granted to those who
can demonstrate an investment of $150,001.00
in Panama. The foreign citizen shall bring his
or her own capital from abroad.

Immigrant Visa when married to a Panamanian:
This type of visa is granted to a Panamanian
spouse. The spouse should present evidence of
economic solvency at the moment of applying
for this visa.

Immigrant Visa for self economic support:
Granted to those foreign citizens whose
financial circumstances allow them to live on
an income derived from their own estate. The
applicant should place a time deposit of
$200,000.00 for two years in a local bank in
order to assure his financial standing.

Tourist Pensioner Visa: Granted to those
aliens retired or pensioned by foreign
governments or companies or international
organizations, receiving a minimum pension of
$500.00 per month.

Retiree Visa:
Granted to those foreigners receiving a
monthly income of $750.00, coming from
interests earned on five year time deposit
account held at the Banco Nacional de Panama.

Immigrant Visa issued under resolution of the
Ministry of Labor: Granted to those foreign
citizens previously authorized to work in
Panama as an employee(up to 10% of the
workforce of the company) or through an
indefinite work permit. The applicant should
have a minimum salary of $2,000.00 per month.

Immigrant visa for artists or those who hold
independent professions not reserved to
Panamanians.
All visas granted to immigrants allow
residency in two stages:
1. Provisional Permanency (Temporary residence):
Once the request for immigrant visa is
presented and approved by the Immigration
Bureau, the foreign citizen will be granted a
provisional permanency for one year.
2. Definitive Permanency (Indefinite Residence):
At the end of the first year a request must be
presented to the Immigration Bureau in order
to obtain the definite permanency. The
Definitive Permanency will allow the foreign
citizen to reside indefinitely in Panama.
